The
Crime Branch investigating the death of Satnam Singh Mann Wednesday took into
custody six employees of the Poojappura Mental Health Centre including the jail
warden.The suspects are being interrogated by a team led by DySP Gopakumar
Nair. According to sources the Crime Branch suspects that death of Satnam was
because of the cruel torture he received at the mental health centre. Satnam
according to officials was also assaulted at the district jail in Kollam.
Inspector General of Police B. Sandhya who is heading the investigation into
the murder of Satnam, law under graduate from National Law
university, Lucknow, Wednesday gathered evidence at Matha Amrithanandamayi Mutt
at Vallikkavu.
A post-mortem examination had revealed that there were around 70 marks on his body. The severe injuries in head and neck resulted in his death, the report said.
Satnam was arrested on August 1 on charges of trying to attack Mata Amritananda Mayi. He was taken to the mental health centre in Peroorkkada on August 3, where he was allegedly assaulted by the wardens.
