Prof .V. Madhusoodhanan Nair is a well known  Malayalam poet, scholar, and teacher.born on 25th Feb 1949 at Aruviyode, Neyyyattinkara, Retired as Professor and Head of the Malayalam Department of St’ Xavier’s College Thumba, Tvpm. His published works include ‘Naranathu Bhrandhan’,‘Gandharvam’ (both Poetry),many Treatises presented by him on various Seminars in India and abroad,a wide collection of essays on Literature,Culture,Songs,Folk Songs etc.and some introductions to Poetic works and Fine Arts.His first collection of poems ‘Naranathu Bhrandhan’ was published in 1992 and it was a best seller (22 editions in 8 yrs).
He has composed and sung in Audio Cassettes ‘7 volumes of his own Poetical works’,Poetry of ‘Vayalar’,‘Changampuzha’,‘Vyloppilli’, ‘Kumaran Asan’,‘Sree Narayana Guru’,‘2 volumes of Children’s poems’ and ‘Amrutha Vani’.He has sung ‘Harinama Keerthanam’,‘Jnanappana’ and ‘Adhyatma Ramayanam’.He has also written and rendered lyrics for Malayalam Movies and for Music Companies.His works:-Naranath Bhranthan (നാറാണത്ത് ഭ്രാന്തന്, The Madman of Naranam) ,Bharatheeyam (ഭാരതീയം, Of India) ,Gandhi (ഗാന്ധി) ,Ammayude Ezhuthukal (അമ്മയുടെ എഴുത്തുകള്, Letters from Mother) ,Agasthya Hrudayam (അഗസ്ത്യഹൃദയം, Heart of Agasthya) ,Nataraja Smriti (നടരാജസ്മൃതി, Remembering Nataraja) ,Punyapuranam Rama Katha (പുണ്യപുരാണം രാമകഥ, Holy Epic of Rama) ,Seethayanam (സീതായനം, Journey of Seetha) ,Vaakku (വാക്ക്, Word) ,Akatharu Puratharu (അകത്താര് പുറത്താര്, Who's In; Who's Out) ,Ganga (ഗംഗ) ,Sakshi (സാക്ഷി, Witness) Awards:-Kunju Pillai Kavitha Award for Poetry in 1986, for 'Naranathu Bhranthan'. ,Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 1993, for his collection of poems titled 'Naranathu Bhranthan'. ,K.Balakrishnan Award in 1991, for 'Bharatheeyam'. ,The Arangu Abu Dhabi Literary Award 2011 ,Asan Award for poetry 2003.He was awarded- Chilanka award-2008 by Chilanka Samkarika vedi Kannur on 2nd November,2008.
