INAUGURATED
URI- Peace building
Institute was inaugurated on 23rd August,2012 at 5.30 pm at
Kottarakara Marthoma Jubilee Memorial Chapel. Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Marthoma
Metropolitan inaugurated the peace building Institute. Rt Rev. Thomas Mar
Timotheos Episcopa presided. Dr. Abraham Karickom, Executive Secretary, URI
Asia Region welcomed the gatherings. Sally Mahe, URI Director for Regional
Development, Ravi Kandage,Sree Lanka, Ian Fry Australia, Immanuel Ivoigba
Kenya, Francis Halder- Bangladesh, Lukia Kawesi,Uganda, Prof. John Kurakar,
President Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy also
addressed the function. Prof. G Jacob expressed vote of thanks. Mr. Viswasara
Chakravarthy presented Thabala performance. Two hundred members participated in
the function

United Religions Initiative (URI) is a fast
growing interfaith organization in the world. This association has more than
500 ccs in the world spread 80 nations. International Peace Research Institite
(IPRI) and Trvelling Peace Academy (TPA) are the main branch of the United
Religions Initiative. Last year H.G Swmi Chatur Vedi, Chairman of the Ramanuja
Mission inaugurated the International Peace Academy at Karickom. Travelling
Peace Academy conductiong various programmes related to “Peace” the dream of
Travelling Academy is to see the world without wars and weapons. We want to
save our earth for our grand children and their grand children also. We want to
see nation of the world divert millions of dollars of present military spending
for health care, education and sustainable activities. To day our Marthoma
Bishop inaugurated the five day long Training Programme here. I hope this training
will help to the Travelling Peace Academy leaders to mould their creativity. Wish
all success for training programme.
