BIJU GIVEN WARM RECEPTION AT KARIPUR AIRPORT

Kolara Veettil Biju, who was released by the abductors in Philippines a few days back and who reached Mumbai on Saturday evening, was given a rousing reception a at the Karipur airport on Sunday afternoon. His wellwishers were present in the airport to give him a warm welcome.The family arrived from Mumbai by the Air India flight. Biju would be given a hero's welcome at his village.Thirty-six-year-old Kolara Veettil Biju, working as an operation manager in a garment factory at Kuwait, was abducted by a terror group from Sulu province in the Philippines when he was at his wife's house, the family members said.

Biju, who has two children and had last visited his native place Moodadi, about six km from Koilandy in Kozhikode district, in June last year.
The Philippines police had informed Indian authorities that Abu Sayyaf militants took Biju at gunpoint. Months later, the police said Biju was killed. But his wife Elena, a Philipina, had contested the claim and said Biju was safe in the custody of the extremist group.
