The prize, instituted to recognise the
best in Indian fiction in English every year, invites submissions for the year
2012. The Hindu Literary Prize recognises and encourages Indian writing in
English. A prize that stands proud and equal to the many other coveted literary
awards of the world. The Prize has a wide range including new creative talent
and also honours writers who have spent their lifetime mining the human spirit
through their words and ideas. Now in its third year, the award is a confirmed
presence on the literary world. In 2010, the
prize was awarded to Manu Joseph for his debut novel Serious Men.
In the second year too, the award went to a debut novelist: Rahul Bhattacharya
