 SEKHAR BASU TAKES OVER AS BARC DIRECTOR

Sekhar Basu, Chief Executive, Nuclear Recycle Board of BARC Trombay, took over as Director of BARC from Ratan Kumar Sinha on 19th June 2012. Mr. Sinha became the Atomic energy commission on April 30 2012.
Sekhar Basu is one of the architect of India's 80 MW compact pressurized water reactor(PWR), whichwill power Arhint, the nuclear powered submarine.
Mr.Basu after compleating engineering joined BARC training school in 1974. He was absorbed in the reactor engineering division of BARC. Mr. Basu was shifted to Kalpakkam in 1998 and become the Directior of BARC facilities there. He was also the project director of Plutonium Recycling project. Mr. Basu has recently been invited in the fusion reactor programme, international thermo nuclear experimental reactor, France.
