The Fresh Water Action Net Work South Asia, Kerala
Chapter celebrated world Environment Day on 5th June,2012 at
Kottarakara- Kalayapuram Neha Town Hall .The
Environment function was arranged
with joined auspicious of FANSA, Friends of Tress & Nature and Kalayapuram
Senior Citizens Organizations. The Environment Day is celebrated every year, to
not only create awareness but also to reaffirm our commitment to protect and
safeguard the environment for us and our future generations. It’s a call for a
positive environmental action to save our planet from further degradation.
Hundreds of Young members gathered from the rural areas of Kottarakara. Dr.
M.K. P Royee , FANSA Co-ordinator, presented paper on “Biodiversity and
Ecosystem Restoration for Sustainable Development”
Mr. N. Bramadas inaugurated the Environment
Seminar. Mr. T.U Alexander, president Senior Citizens’ Organization presided.
Dr. T. Sabu, Palodu Botanickal Garden delivered keynote address. Prof. John
Kurakar, President Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy, Mr. Cheriyan P.Koshy, Secretary,
Friends of Trees& Nature, Mr.Koppara Reghu, Mr. Sajimon, Mr. Madhavan Nair,
Mr. Pathala Raghavan, Dr. Thomas Panicker addressed the meeting. The function
was begun at 2.30 pm with Prayer song by School students. Prof. T.J Johnson,
Convenor of the programmed welcomed the members. Mr. Raghavan distributed the
Saplings of trees. The celebration concluded at 5 pm with Environment songs.
