400 TRAPPED IN LEH LANDSLIDE-
 RESCUE OPERATIONS ON
Over 400 civilians were trapped in a landslide late Friday,8th June,2012 night in Khardung La, around 40km from Leh. Jammu and Kashmir police in a joint operation with the Army rescued many of those trapped, most of whom were tourists. Khardung La is a high mountain pass located in Ladakh and is widely known to be one of the highest motorable passes in the world. It is a popular tourist destination in Ladakh and is known for mountain biking adventures.
