SWEET VICTORY FOR FIVE CHILDREN

SWEET VICTORY FOR FIVE CHILDREN

Joy of success:Ramadevi and her five children after the results of the SSLC examinations were announced in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday,26th April,2012. Uthra, Uthraja, Uthrajan, Utthara and Utthama were in a jovial mood when the SSLC examination results were announced. All of them have secured good grades. These children — four sisters and a brother — had become the talk of the town as the quintuplets of Thiruvananthapuram following their birth in 1995. They continued to hold media attention when their mother Ramadevi faced hardship following the death of her husband.
While Uthraja has secured six A+, her sisters and brother too fared well. Out of all the papers, Mathematics was a hard nut to break for them. “None of us likes mathematics that much. The paper was tough for all of us. Thankfully, we have scored better than we expected,” said Uthama. Their mother too agreed that though they had prepared well, questions were a little “twisted.”While Uthra and Uthrajan prefer the computer science group, the rest have decided to choose the science, group and they plan to continue their studies at Lourde Mount Higher Secondary School, Vattappara.“Many friends called us on Wednesday and said they were tensed about the results. We were tensed too,” they said.
So on the D-day, they visited the Sri Krishna temple at Parapamcode before heading to the school to know the results. All of them were anxious until they knew the grades of each of them, says Uthama. Then began the deluge of wishes and blessings from near and dear. The future holds bright for these young children. They said that a few organisations had offered them assistance for continuing studies, and for entrance coaching.“I will make sure that they are provided with all that is necessary for good education. But it will be their responsibility to study and build a good future,” said Ramadevi
