95^TH BIRTH DAY CELEBRATION OF MAR CHRYSOSTUM VALIYA THIRUMENI

Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, inaugurated the 95th birthday celebrations of Mar Chrysostum at the Dr Alexander Mar Thoma Hall in Thiruvalla, on Thursday 26^th April, 2012, afternoon. To Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostum, senior Metropolitan of Mar Thoma Church, humour is the medium for communicating his philosophy of life, said Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy. Mr Chandy was inaugurating the 95th birthday celebrations of Mar Chrysostum, organised by the Powravali, at the Dr Alexander Mar Thoma Hall in Thiruvalla on Thursday afternoon.

The senior Metropolitan, who enjoyed deep respect from all sections of the Kerala society, cutting across the religio-political and social barriers, has also got the capacity to unite people belonging to diverse socio-political and religious background and to bring them to a common platform, the Chief Minister said. Film actor, Mammootty, inaugurated the social welfare projects envisaged by the Powravali in connection with the 95th birthday fete of Mar Chrysostum on the occasion. Mr Mammootty said Mar Chrysostum was the synonym for charity and humaneness.
