POWERFUL QUAKE HITS TOKYO

Tokyo: A major 7.0-magnitude earthquake rocked Tokyo and surrounding areas today, Japan's Meteorological Agency said. The quake struck at 2:28pm (1058 IST), the agency said, adding that there was no danger of a tsunami.
