NEW BISHOPS FOR JACOBITE CHURCH

Three Rambans of the Syrian Jacobite Church were elevated as Metropolitans at a function held at Patriarch Centre, Puthen Cruz, on Monday,2^nd January,2012.The Rambans, Gabriel, Bersaumo, and Semavon would henceforth be Elias Mor Juliouse, Thomas Mor Alexandrius, and Zachariah Mor Polycarpose respectively. Baselious Thomas I Metropolitan and Episcopal Synod secretary Joseph Mor Gregorios Metropolitan were among those present at the ceremony. Ramban Stephanose would be elevated as Metropolitan on January 15 at a function in Damascus. This would take the total number of Metropolitans in the Church to 33.
