‘ZERO WASTE CAMPAIGN BEGAN IN
SABARIMALA

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy Monday, 6th November,2011, inaugurated the 'Zero Waste' project in Sabarimala.The project aims at cleaning Sabarimala, Pampa, and the traditional forest path to Sabarimala and maintaining them as a zero-waste zone.Around  4,000 volunteers of various religious and non-governmental organisations are expected to take part in the week-long cleaning drive. The Mata Amrithanandamayi Mutt will take a lead role in the initiative by deploying around 2,000 sanitation volunteers. Also pitching in would be volunteers of the Satya Sai Seva Trust, Akhila Bharatha Ayyappa Seva Sanghom, the various Eco Development Committees attached to the Forest Department and National Service Scheme (NSS) units from various colleges
