WOMEN DEMAND MORE SECURITY IN TRAINS

Photo:Vipin Chandran The district committee of the Kerala Mahila Sangham on Thursday held a march to the regional office of the Railways and gave a request to increase the security of women travellers on trains. The Maliha Sangham demanded that the ladies compartment be attached to the middle of the train and not at the end. A statement issued here by Mallika Stalin, president, and S. Sreekumari, secretary of the organisation, said that many stations had vegetation growing on their premises which needed to be cleared so as to facilitate free movement of passengers on the station.Kamala Sadanandan, State president of the organisation, inaugurated the march.
