TRIBUTE PAID TO 
JOB MAR PHILOXENOS

Job Mar Philoxenos (72) of the Delhi Diocese Malankara Orthodox Sabha passed away in Kolencherry at a private hospital on Sunday morning, 20TH November, 2011, at 7.30. He was ailing for some time.His Grace belongs to the tradition of the Mount Tabor Ashram in Pathnapuram. Mar Philoxenos has committed himself to the administrative requirements of Delhi Diocese. 
 The Bishop of Delhi Diocese of the Indian Orthodox Church, Job Mar Philoxenos, passed away Sunday morning due to renal failure following prolonged illness. He  The bishop breathed his last at the Kolencherry Medical Mission Hospital in Kerala where he was admitted since September. Philoxenos had a history of kidney-related ailments and had undergone a transplant in 1993. He was only the second Bishop of the Delhi Diocese ever since it was formed in 1975, a statement said. The Bishop of Delhi Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church, also known as the Indian Orthodox Church, had been associated with the Delhi diocese since 1991. In 1989, the Malankara Association had elected him as a Bishop of the Church. Two years later, he was ordained as a Bishop of the Malankara Orthodox Church, also known as Indian Orthodox Church. He took full charge of the Delhi Diocese after his predecessor Paulos Mar Gregorios passed away in 1996. Philoxenos is known for his initiatives to encourage women in the Church to the forefront and using Internet actively as a means to connect to Orthodox believers.
 Metropolitan Job Mar Philoxenos of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church who passed away on Sunday was interred in a specially erected crypt at the Mount Tabour Dayara Chapel at Pathanapuram  on Tuesday after noon. He was head of the Delhi diocese of the church sine 2002.
  the 72 year-old metropolitan took to the spiritual path by poining the Mount Tabor Dayara at the age of 16. The body was brought to Pathanapuram late Monday night from Kottayam via Thiruvalla, Chengannur, Pandalam and Adoor. There was a special stop for the funeral procession at Saint John's Orthodox Church,Mepral,the home parish of the metropolitan.
 Hundreds of people from all walks of life arrived at the Mount Tabor Dayara chapel to pay their last respects to the departed metropolitan, known as the Nightingale of the Orthodox Church. The funeral service was led by the senior Catholicos of the East Baselios Mar Thoma Didymos I and the Catholicos of the East and Malankara metropolitan Baselios Mar thoma Paulose II.
  The funeral service which began to 2 p.m. concluded at 4.30 p.m. The crypt located on the southern side of the chapel is the first grave in the chapel. Metropolitans Zachariah Mar Antonius and Yakoo Mar Irenius accompanied the funeral procession. Among those who paid their last respects at the chapel on Monday night are senior Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church Philipse Mar Chrysostam, Joshua Mar Ignathios, and Sylvester Ponnumuthan. On Tuesday, MLAs Mullakkara Ratnakaran, Aisha Potty, and Raju Abraham paid their last respects to the metropolitan. Wreaths were laid on the body on behalf of Forest Minister K.B Ganes Kumar, and Lok Sabha member Kodikunnil Suresh.
  Kurakar Cultural Forum, Kottarakara Unit  was arranged a condolence meeting at Kurakar Town Center on 22nd Wednesday at 3pm. Prof. John Kurakar presided over the condolence meeting. Mr. Bobby Kurakar, Prof.Varghese John, Simson John, Santhosh Varghese, Mr Sadasivan, Viswanathan, Dr Soman were spoke on the occasion.

 മലങ്കര ഓര്ത്തഡോക്സ് സഭാ ഡല്ഹി ഭദ്രാസന മെത്രാപോലീത്ത ഇയ്യോബ് മാര്പീലക്സിനോസ് (72) അന്തരിച്ചു. കോലഞ്ചേരിയിലെ സ്വകാര്യ ആസ്പത്രിയില്ഞായറാഴ്ച്ച രാവിലെ 7.30 ഓടെയായിരുന്നു അന്ത്യം. കുറച്ചുനാളായി രോഗബാധിതനായി ചികിത്സയിലായിരുന്നു.

ഡല്ഹി ഭദ്രാസന മേധാവി പദവിയിലിലിരുന്ന് ഓര്ത്തഡോക്സ് ക്രിസ്ത്യന്മെഡിക്കല്ഫെലോഷിപ്പ്, ശാന്തിഗ്രാംമിഷന്‍  തുടങ്ങി  നിരവധി സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളുടെ നിര്മ്മാണം ഉള്പ്പെടെ നിരവധി ജീവകാരുണ്യ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള്ക്ക് നേതൃത്വം നല്കിയ വ്യക്തിയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.

കൊല്ലം ജില്ലയില്‍ 1939 മെയ് 8 നാണ് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ജനനം. കഴിഞ്ഞ ഏപ്രില്‍ 30 ന് പൗരോഹിത്യ ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ ഉന്നത പദവിയില്പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ച് രണ്ട് ദശകം പിന്നിട്ടതിന്റെ ആഘോഷപരിപാടികള്വിശ്വാസി സമൂഹം കൊണ്ടാടിയിരുന്നു
