According to officials from the Central Placement Cell (CPC), the average salary offered on the first day was Rs 2.5 lakh. The next round of placements will be held on January 29 when a Japanese company will visit the campus with the highest placement offer of Rs 1.25 lakh per month. The company is likely to offer jobs in sales with posting in Tokyo for first three years. The registration process for the central placements, however, ended on October 31.
CPC had managed to place nearly 1,000 students last year of a total of 12,000 who had registered. Thirty companies had visited the campus for placements last time that included PSUs, KPOs, BPOs and NGOs. The highest package offered last year was Rs 5.5 lakh per annum to a post-graduate student for finance profile. The lowest annual package offered was Rs 2.10 lakh.
