81st ANNIVERSARY OF KERALA KALAMANDALM
The Kerala Kalamandalam is the cultural pride of the state and every effort will be made to improve its academic and cultural activities. 81st anniversary celebration of the Kerala Kalamandalam and observance of the birth anniversary of its founder Vallathol Narayana menon.
Minister of culture K.C Joseph distributed Kerala Kalamandalam fellowships and awards for 2010 at the function. The winners of the Kaladandalam awards were Kalanilayam Raghvan (Kathakali Vesham), Kalamandalam Sukumaran (Kathali Music), Kalamandalam Raman Namboodiri (Chenda) Kalamandalam Sankara Warrier (Maddalam) Kalamandalam Ram Mohanan(Chutti) Kalamandalam P.S Lathika (dance) Kalamandalam Parameswaran (Thullal),Kalamandalam Eswaranunni (Mizhavu) Kalamandalam Sivadas( Mridangom) and K.P Babudas (book on art and culture) Each award carries a purse of Rs 10,000, Ponnada, citation and plaque. Kalamandalam K.P Chandrika has been selected for the Kalaratnam award which includes a cash prize of Rs 12,000.
