ATTACK ON PRASHANT BHUSHAN

Two youths, who escaped after attacking lawyer-activist Prashant Bhushan, were arrested this morning, police said. Tejinder Pal Singh Bagga and Vishnu Verma were apprehended from a place near Baba Kharak Singh Marg, theysaid. Bagga had yesterday,12th October,2011, said that he would surrender in a local court.One Inder Verma, who claimed to be the Delhi president of Sri Ram Sene, was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident. Bhushan was assaulted yesterday by three youths belonging to a right-wing group in his Supreme Court chamber for advocating holding of a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.


Communist Party of lndia (Marxist) politburo member Brinda Karat said onFriday,14th October,2011, the attack against senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan yesterday in the Supreme Court, by the right wing Hindu forces was a shame on the nation and demanded strong action against the assailants.Talking to newsmen at a press conference at CMPI(M) District Committee Office here, she said ''the biggest bullies are the biggest cowards. The government should send them to jail. This will send a message to people that the government is strong about handling such situations.
