 TO TAMIL ACTRESS GANDHIMATHI

Popular Tamil actress Gandhimathi died at her residence  on Friday,9^TH, September,2011 after prolonged illness, family sources said.  Known for her fine portrayal of character roles, the 65-year-old actress had acted in several films including blockbusters like ‘Karakattakaran’, ‘Manikkam’, ‘Walter Vetrivel’, ‘Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi’, ‘Agal Vilaku’ and ‘Porter Ponnusami.’ One of her memorable movies includes ace Director Bharathiraaja's debut film, "16 Vayathinilae", in which she donned the role of Sridevi's mother. She is survived by her two adopted sons, they said.
