Chief minister Oommen Chandy said that proceedings are almost complete for the creation of 740 new posts for Janamaithri police (people friendly police). The CM was speaking after inaugurating the statewide evaluation meet of Janamaithri police on Thursday, 3rd, August,2011..CM said Janamaithri police were able to protect the life and assets of people and the police should create a clean crime-free environment. Devaswom - Transport minister VS Sivakumar presided. MLAs Purushan Kadalundi, VD Satheesan, Thomas Unniyadan, DGP Jacob Punoose, Intelligence ADGP P Hemachandran, northern zone IG Padmakumar, middle zone IG B Sandhya also attended.
