Minister for Food and Civil Supplies T.M. Jacob was Tuesday,16^th August,2011, exonerated in the Kuriyarkutty-Karappara case by the Supreme Court.The court approved the High Court verdict in the case.The court observed that there is not enough evidence against him to carry out prosecution in the case.The court also rejected the petition filed by the LDF government.

The previous LDF government approached the SC against the HC verdict, which acquitted Jacob and 8 others. The Vigilance case was that, a loss of Rs 57 lakh was caused to the state exchequer by allotting extra amount to the contractors for construction of Moolathara canal. Jacob was adjudged as the ninth accused in the charge sheet prepared by MP Dinesh, who was Palakkad vigilance DySP.
