A high alert has been sounded in Kerala in the backdrop of the serial blasts in Mumbai, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told the Assembly Thursday. Airports, railway and bus stations, places of worship, major state and central installations, and public places have been brought under the ambit of high security, Chandy said in reply to a submission by Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan. Bomb squads have also been deployed at vital spots and installations, he said. Condemning the terror strike as a "dastardly act", Chandy said the nation should stay united to isolate extremists who were a threat to the unity and integrity of the country. "The terror strikes in Mumbai is an attempt to weaken the nation and create anarchy," he said. Sharing the sentiments of the House, Achuthanandan said the entire nation should join hands "to defeat the evil designs of terrorists."
