Union Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran resigned from the cabinet on Thursday, 7th July,2011. Charges of wrong doing in the telecom sector have claimed the second scalp from the party. Last year, A Raja was forced to quit the Ministry in the wake of allegations of his involvement in the 2 G spectrum allocation scam.the resignation comes in the wake of the central Bureau of investigation submitting a status report to the supreme court on Wednesday 6th July.
