Chhattisgarh wall collapsed
Twelve people were killed and 20 others injured Tuesday,28th June,2011, when a part of a bungalow of a superintendent of police collapsed in Chhattisgarh following heavy rains, police said. The government has announced Rs.100, 000 as compensation for the families of each of the dead and Rs.25,000 to each injured. The accident took place at O.P. Pal's bungalow in Ambikapur town of Surguja district, some 350 km north of here. G.S. Dhananjay, the Collector of Surguja, told IANS: 'It's an accident. It was an old building and the incessant rain weakened the outer wall.'The victims were poor people waiting to leave for Ramanujganj, a small town in Surguja district, close to Jharkhand..
