Award for social activists Social Activists C H Abu Backer Haji and C K Janu have been selected for the first Manava Seva and Karma Shreshta Awards respectively.The awards were instituted by Rajeevji Memorial Trust in recognition of their work towards integration of Dalit-Adivasi people with the mainstream.
Trust Patron T P R Nath said the award carried a cash prize of Rs 10,001 and a citation.Union Minister of State for Home Mulappally Ramachandran will present the awards on May 23 at a function at Kannur Jawahar Stadium, in connection with the Dalit Adhivasi meet.
