KURAKAR GARDEN CULTURAL FORUM OBSERVED WORLD HEALTH DAY
                                                         7th APRIL,2011

Every year, since 1950, world Health Day has been celebrated on April 7. The World  Health Organization(WHO) selects a priority area each year, calling on the international community to address an important public health issue.  This year's(2011) theme is during resistance.Modern medicine relics on antibiotics and other antimicrobial medicines for treating illness that, only a few decades ago, were often fatal. Before the discovery of penicillin , for example, even common flu was a killer.
Kurakar Garden Cultural Forum was observed World Health Day held at Kurakar Town Center, Kottarakara on 7th April,2011. On this occasion Prof.John Kurakar, president,Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy inaugurated the awareness class regarding Health. Speaking on this occasion he emphasized that the people should aware about health, so that a healthy nation could grow. For this protection of this environment is essential,  to protect environment we should plant more and more trees. Mr Sam Kurakar, Dr Balakrishnan Nair, Dr Unnikrishnan,Br Bobby Kurakar Prof. Muhamed Ashreff were spoke on the occasion.

A mega blood donation camp was organised by the All Kerala Blood Donor's Society in association with the State Bank of Travancore. A quiz for the general public was also organised on the occasion. All blood donation awareness campaigns should thus focus on educating the masses about all aspects of blood donation as well as the service one would be doing to society through the noble act. Blood is a life saving substance  for which there is increasing demand. The gap between supply and demand of safe blood has always been huge and unfortunately there is no substitute for blood.Unless volunteers come forward many lives would be lost. On the world Health Dy,one should pledge to educate others about voluntary blood donation
