Dr I.T Kunjappan,73 age, famous General Physician in Kottarakara passed away on 27th February,2011. He is survived his wife Annamma and four sons Er. Suresh Thariyan, Dr Prakash K. Thariyan,, Dr Anil K. Thariyan andDr Santhosh K. Thariyan. Dr I.T Kunjappan was the founder member of the Medical Trust Hospital and many medical institutions. He served many charitable and social organizations in Kollam district.
The funeral was held at Kottarakara- Kottapuram St. Ignathious Orthodox church on 28th February,2011. Among those who arrived to pay their last respects included Bishops, political leaders, Doctors, Professors, priests of various churches and business men. Hundreds of people from different walks of life paid him last respects. The last journey from his home Thrikkannamangal by 2.30 pm. The funeral prayers at home and church led by parish priests and other church leaders.
Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy arranged a condolence meeting at Kurakar Town Center on 28th February,2011 at 5.30 pm. Prof. John Kurakar presided over the condolence meeting. Prof.Varghese John, Bobby Kurakar Manager Director of the Kurakar Plazha tourist Home, Mr Sam Kurakar, Director, Comrade Info systems, Dr Muraleedharan, Dr Balakrishnan Nair were spoke on the occasion.
