A unique Mohiniyattom performance on the popular Biblical parable of the Good Samaritan was staged at the Mar Cleemis Orthodox Church at Vayalathala near Ranni on Thursday 6th January,2011.
the lyrical story, samaryangana for the performance was written by Fr Mathews Vazhakkunnam, professor of Malayalam at the St. Thomas College, Ranni.
The Mohiniyattom was staged by a 10 member group of artistes led by noted danseuse Kalamandalam Sreedevi Mohan who is also the director of the Chilanka Dance and Music Akademi, Aranmula. A large number dance lovers, including foreigners, turned up for the 45 minute dance programme organised by Christian Fine Arts Society at Vayalathala. Joshua Mar Nicodymos, Metropolitan of the Nilackal diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church delivered the benedictory speech
