JOB SCAMJOB SCAM

JOB SCAM

The Government has decided to go a comprehensive vigilance investigation to unearth possible involvement of more persons in the scam and ascertain whether it has affected more departments and districts.
The Revenue Minister said the first hint of the scam had come in the form of a complaint to the'Sutharya Keralam' programme featuring the chief Minister in October. This was followed by an anonymous complaint about the job racket.
On receipt of the Revnue Department began looking in to the issue. The racket came to light when the departmental vigilance officials got in touch with the public service commission (PSC) Since there were some 25,000 employees in the Revenuee Department alone. The possibility  of such bogus recruitment was greater in the department, but other  departments might also have taken a hit. Minister Rajendran said there would be  no spft pedalling because the main accused in the scam in wayanad belonged  to the pro-CPI  joint council of the state service organisation. Stringent action would be taken against all  persons involved in the scam regardless of whether they ere office bearers of the joint  council.
A 12 member police team has been constituted to inquire in to the job scam in wayanad district. The investigations would focus on wayanad, kollam, thiruvananthapuram and Malappuram, as  the accused belonged to these districts.
The bogus recruitment began in mid-march. The forged documents of two of the accused were found from a section of the collectorate on Friday 3rd December. A group of candidates from Kollam district had complained to the vigilance wing of the revenue Department  that many persons, even those who had not appeared for the recruitment examination conducted by the Kerala Public Service Commission had secured government jobs, especially in the Revenue Department in Waynad district by producing forged documents
