Amritanandamayi math’s cleanliness drives begins on 1st November, 2010. The AmalaBharatham cleanliness campaign launched by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math covered a good portion of the National High way 47 passing through Kollam city on Sunday 31st October,22010.
Mata Amritanandamayi to create awareness of humanity’s debt to nature and the earth. The Campaign aims at embracing new practical initiatives to clean the country, promoting health through hygiene, proper disposal of waste and making people to maintain environmental cleanliness.
The Campaign was simultaneously held at Anchal,Kottarakara,
Sasthamcotta and Chavara in the Kollam district. It targets cleaning 54 locations in the state on Sunday 31st October, 2010 to mark the 54th Kerala formation day on Monday 1st November. As many as 500 volunteers including women and children took part in a day long cleaning drive. The Ashram planned to keep waste bins at various points in consultation with the municipal consultation with the municipal authorities.
