WORLD COCONUT DAY CELEBRATION (SEPTEMBER-2,2010) Coconut farmers to get technical training. The Coconut Development Board has decided to impart technological training to farmers, processors, traders and exporters. The Kerala government will launch Co-cotech promotion 2010, a national campaign on application of technology for export promotion. The programe will give impetus to the development of technologies for coconut processing, valu addition, product diversification and assistance for setting up coconut processing units. Packaging, branding market promotion and quality testing for various products. India could earn a foreign exchange of Rs442 crore in 2009-10 from export of coconut products, recording an annual growth of 34 percent. The board hs set a target of Rs 600 crore for the current year. Union Minister of state for Agriculture K.V Thomas inaugurated the world coconut day celebration on September 2nd. Prof.John Kurakar
