WORLD CLASS TERMINAL
 AT DELHI AIR PORT
          Prime Minister Manmohan singh inaugurated the world-class Terminal-3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi on Saturday 2nd July 2010. Terminal-3, built in just 37 months at a cost of Rs10,000 crore,had established new global benchmarks. 5.4 million square feet. The new terminal building is  said to be the world’s sixth largest.
          Comfortable louages, nap and shower rooms will add to passenger comfort in the airport which will have a mix of restaurants, bars, cafes and fast food out lets in around 20,000 sq mt of commercial space. T-3 terminal will have  92 automatic walkways and a multi-level air conditioned carpark to accommodate 4300  cars,both firsts in india. There is a 100 room transit hotel and a business louage inside the terminal  itself.
          Around 800 flight Information Display system have been used for live flight  information and 8,000 speakers installed for public address system. Modern technology, which can handle 12,800 bags in an hour, has been used for check-in process and baggage retrieval.
          Besides 95 immigration counters, the new terminal boasts numerous  escalators and walk a lators,including one claiming to be the longest in Asia at 118 metres. About 3000 security Cameras have been installed to keepan eye  on every nook and corner of the air port.
          Almost 20,000 sq mt of retail area offers duty free stores. T-3 will be one of the few green airport in the world,having eco- friendly features such as energy efficient buildings high- performance air conditioning use of municipal  waste to generate elecricty, rain -water harvesting, waste water treatment and re use of treated water.
          T-3 will have a high level of green cover with land  scaping of 70 acres out side and 10,000 sq mt inside the building.
          Numerous varieties of plants trees are being planted.Nine lakh plants will provide a green cover for the air port  and the land scaping will have a large numbers of fountains and soothing lighting.
