BIHAR STATE LEGISLATURE AND

BIHAR STATE LEGISLATURE AND
INDIAN DEMOCRACY

Wednesday (21st July, 2010) marked shameful day in the history of Indian democracy. The picture of congress legislator Jyoti kumari smashing a flower pot outside the Bihar legislative is reflective of the level to which our lawmakers have stooped.

The opposition members in the Assembly threw chairs, paper weights and microphones. An MLA even hurled a slipper at the speaker. The unruly MLA’s should be disqualified, not just suspended.

We need to enact a law which defines legitimate protest peoples issue should be discussed in an appropriate manner to find meaningful solutions. MLA’s should show some respect to taxpayers, whose money spent on conducting legislative business.Jyoti Kumari is the right person to participate in ‘save’ the greenery’s programmes in her constituency!. We hope the photograph will urge people to think twice before they cast their votes.
