STATE CENSUS-2011 BEGINS

The Kerala State Directorate of Census operations has started the procedures preparatory to 2011 National Census in kerala. The process formally began with the team led by state Census director V.M Gopala- menon visiting the Raj Bhavan and gathering the relevant details from Governor R.S Gavai and his wife Kamalarani Gavai on Monday 12th April,2010.
The information gathered include personal details such as the complete details such as the complete details such as the complete name of the individual the name to be shown in the national census register, gender and date of birth and several housing specific details. The state Directorate of census operations said preparatory phase would last till may 27. Over 58,000 enumerators and nearly 10,000 supervisors had been assigned this work. The second phase would involve the population assessment of the census operations and that phase would be in February 2011.
