WORLD AIDS DAY
The Kerla Kavya Kala Sahithy,Kottarakara will observe world AIDS day on December 1.The world AIDS Day theme for for 2009 is” Universal Access and Human Rights' According to U N AIDS estimates, there are 33.2 milion people living with HIV, including 2.5 million people became newly infected with the virus. Around half of all people who become infected with HIV are before 25 and die of AIDS before they are 35.
Started on December1, 1988, world AIDS Day is about raising money increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education, world AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and there are many things still to be done.
This year observance will focus on creating awareness among youth inspiring them to make responsible choices, maintain a healthy lifestyle and donate blood regularly.
