Kerala state needs a farm culture

Kerala state needs
a farm culture
Organizing harvest festivals was one method to promote farm culture.’ while the whole state appears over crowded and the general impression is that no land is remaining waster; the irony is that thousands of acres of farm land are remaining idle.
The Kerala Paddy Fields and Wetland Conservation Act were introduced with the dual aim of over coming food deficit and protecting the environment. The Act was enacted only after taking various steps to ensure that paddy farming became a profitable venture.
To achieve this objective, the procurement price of paddy was hiked to
Rs 11 from Rs 7 and farmers were provided with interest-free loans. Debt relief and several other relief measures had been introduced to promote farming
The government aims to increase paddy production from 6.5 lakh tones. This is imperative because the state is producing only one fifth if its of its rice requirement
