UNITED RELIGIONS INITIATIVE (URI)
& KAVYA KALA SAHITHY
URI is a global interfaith organization founded on spiritual values and shared vision currently there are over 400 cooperation circles (CCs) and more than 200 affiliates located in seven geographic regions of the world. Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and Caribbean, the middle east and north Africa, North America, and Southeast Asia and the pacific. There members span different regions.
The cooperation circles (CCs) are locally rooted and globally connected CCs carry out URI’s purpose in a multitude of actions. Any group committed to the URI Chapter with at least seven people representing three or more religions spiritual expressions or indigenous tradition can become a cooperation circle are engaging with people in other circles across a town or an ocean, sharing ideas and resources, and participating in regional and global assemblies and collective global actions.
URI Kerala chapter conducted 3 rd Annual Youth Camp at karickom International Public School on 23 rd may 2009. Rev Dr M.J Joseph, former director, Ecumenical Christian Centre Bangalore is the chief guest. Best cooperation circle award for 2009 presented to Nalanchira Sneha Sangamam CC (Rs 3000/- and citation) Dr Abraham Karickom, Prof John Kurakar, Sri Balakrishnan Nair Dr T.P Jose Dr A Jacob, Prof G. Jacob Aby Shan Abraham, Jiji P. Mathew were spoke in the after noon session
