CHIDAMBARAM HAS SHOWN GREAT MAGNANIMITY

The action of Jarnal singh, the Dainik Jagran reporter who hurled his shoe at Union Home Minister Sri P Chidambaram during a press meet to protest againt the Congress decision to field Jagdish Tyter and Sajjan kumar, accused in the 1984 anti- sikh riots case, in the election was unfortunate and condemnable. Bi\ut Mr Chidambaram for handling the incident in a cool and level headed manner. He asked the security personnel to handle the journist gently and then forgave him is indeed laudable- and also Mr Chidambaram continued the press conference. This shows his maturity and Magnanimity. We are proud of him for the excellent gesture.
Mr Jarnail Singh's act was uncivilised and against all the ethics of journalism. The journist could have surely chosen the pen as his means of protest. In many countries the incident would have attracted aa ail term. Any way the shoe hurling incident has rpved the maturity of our politicians and Media. Mr Chidmbram kept his act later. Iraqi lournist who hurld his shoe at George W, Bush, did not regret. in this incident both parties displayed maturity.
