Kunthi is one of the most loved and cherised rivers of kerala. Originates from the northern side of the Park at an altitude of 2200 meters, the river tumbles down a deep gorge and flows through the entire length of valley to south direction and finally merging in to bhavanipuzha. from a gurgling stream in the hills to a swirling cascade at pathrakadavu, to a still pool at poonchola, to the languid river at sairandhri, Kunthi reveals herself in many moods in her journey across the valley. Her cool, cascading waters ever express the beauty and bountry of the landscape. The river Kunthi and the belief that the pandavas had stayed in sairandri vanam adds mythological significance.
