KERALA MINISTER AK SASEENDRAN QUITS OVER ALLEGED SLEAZE TALK WITH WOMAN

Kerala transport minister AK Saseendran on Sunday resigned from his post after allegations of misconduct with a woman were made against him. A TV channel recently aired an audio clip hinting a lewd conversation between the minister and a woman on phone. The minister, however, denied the allegations and demanded a through probe into the matter.

A five-time legislator from the Nationalist Congress Party, the minister announced the resignation at Kozhikode. The audio was released by Mangalam TV. “I have decided to resign. This should not be seen as my acceptance of guilt. All charges on me are absolutely baseless. It is up to the CM and govt to investigate the matter and they can investigate it with any agency. I appeal to the CM to probe the allegations against me. But it’s my responsibility to step down to protect the value of my party and front,” said Saseendran while talking to media.

ലൈംഗിക ചുവയുള്ള ഫോണ്‍ സംഭാഷണം പുറത്തുവന്ന സാഹചര്യത്തില്‍ ഗതാഗത വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി എ.കെ ശശീന്ദ്രന്‍ രാജിവെച്ചു. കോഴിക്കോട്ട് വാര്‍ത്താസമ്മേളനത്തിലാണ് അദ്ദേഹം രാജി പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചത്. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയനെ കണ്ട് ശശീന്ദ്രന്‍ നേരത്തെ രാജി സന്നദ്ധത അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നു. താന്‍ കാരണം പാര്‍ട്ടിക്കോ സര്‍ക്കാറിനോ ക്ഷീണമുണ്ടാക്കില്ലെന്ന് ശശീന്ദ്രന്‍ പ്രതികരിച്ചു. രാജി കുറ്റസമ്മതമല്ല. ധാര്‍മികത സംരക്ഷിക്കാനാണ് താന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുന്നത്. മംഗളം പുറത്തുവിട്ട വാര്‍ത്ത താന്‍ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. തനിക്ക് പറ്റിയിട്ടില്ലെന്നും സത്യം ഏതു ഏജന്‍സിക്കും അന്വേഷിക്കാമെന്നും ശശീന്ദ്രന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തിലുള്ള ഇടതു സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ അധികാരത്തിലേറി പത്തു മാസത്തിനിടെ ഇതു രണ്ടാമത്തെ മന്ത്രിയാണ് രാജി പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നത്. നേരത്തെ ബന്ധുനിയമ വിവാദത്തില്‍ ഇ.പി ജയരാജനാണ് രാജി വെച്ചത്.
എന്‍സിപി നേതാവായ ശശീന്ദ്രന്‍ കോഴിക്കോട് എലത്തൂര്‍ മണ്ഡലത്തില്‍ നിന്നാണ് നിയമസഭയിലെത്തിയത്.
