Meeting Report – January 2026
The January 2026 meeting of the Kerala Palliative Care Initiative was held on January 31 at 3:00 PM at the Kurakar Education Centre. The session was presided over by Prof. John Kurakar.
Event Highlights
Welcome & Introduction: General Secretary Ashok Kumar delivered the welcome address and the introductory speech.
Inauguration: The meeting was officially inaugurated by Pastor Raju.
Key Speakers: Kunjachan Paruthiara, Ranji Mylam, Prof. Molly Kurakar, Percy Kunjachan, Reena Ranji, Jose Abraham, Actor Paul Raja, and Kunjumon Cherukara addressed the gathering.
Vote of Thanks: Sri Mathew Luke expressed his gratitude to the attendees.
Major Decisions Taken
Palliative Home Care Unit: It was decided to officially commence the Palliative Home Care Unit in 2026.
Annual Conference: The Palliative Annual Conference is scheduled to be held on March 22.
New Appointment: To support the General Secretary, Sri Jose Abraham was elected as the Secretary.
Beneficiary Outreach: A list of 100 beneficiaries has been prepared. Those requiring palliative home care services are requested to contact the initiative to receive assistance.
Membership Fee: The Life Membership fee was fixed at ₹5,000.
The meeting concluded at 5:00 PM with a tea social.
