WE UNITE TO ACCELERATE PEACE.

Peace can be a state of harmony or the absence of hostility. "Peace" can also be a non-violent way of life. Peace is when people are able to resolve their conflicts without violence and can work together to improve the quality of their lives. Everyone has the power to participate in shaping political decisions and the government is accountable to the people. Everyone has an equal opportunity to work and make a living, regardless of gender, ethnicity or any other aspect of identity. Everyone is equal before the law, the systems for justice are trusted, and fair and effective laws protect people’s rights. Everyone lives in safety, without fear or threat of violence, and no form of violence is tolerated in law or in practice. Everyone has fair and equal access to the basic needs for their wellbeing – such as food, clean water, shelter, education, healthcare and a decent living environment.

Violence spreads like an infectious disease. Recent scientific advances have demonstrated that violence behaves like other contagious health epidemics, yet it is the only health epidemic not primarily managed by the health sector. We knows from major public health campaigns that it is much less expensive to prevent disease than it is to treat it. In the case of polio eradication, savings will exceed the cost of our investment by a factor of four. Current peace building expenditure, “at under $10 billion” according to the Global Peace Index, is “less than 1% the economic impact of war” even though it can save “up to 16 times the cost of the intervention” to prevent conflict.

Peace  education  is   necessary for to prevent violence .It  eliminating  the  conflicts  and  violence  caused by in justice, inequality  and human rights, violations, and implementing the ways and means of reducing  the  same  through  appropriate  teaching  and  learning  tactics  by  means  of  producing responsible global citizen to attain and spread the peace in the world. Therefore peace education is a goal of education.

United Religions Initiative is Accelerating Peace, Interfaith Action and Global Peace building. URI is a global grassroots interfaith network that cultivates peace and justice by engaging people to bridge religious and cultural differences and work together for the good of their communities and the world. URI is a non-governmental organization. It stands for Accelerating Peace: Interfaith Action and Global Peace building will bring together.  Aim of URI is promoting interfaith cooperation to end religiously motivated violence and build cultures of peace, justice and healing in communities and countries around the world. URI conducting an International Accelerate Peace Conference held in conjunction with the 2019 Circles of Light Gala held at Stanford University.
