Nearly
13 million people are under flood watches and warnings stretching from Corpus
Christi to New Orleans as remnants of Hurricane Harvey continue to pummel the
area.The flooding in Houston is being described as catastrophic. Tropical storm
Harvey is forecast to head back into the gulf of Mexico where it will pick up
moisture before moving back over Galveston and into Houston again with several
more days of rain expected.The National Weather Service warns up to 50 inches
of rain could fall in this area, and now there's another storm watch where
potential Tropical Cyclone Ten will start to barrel its way up the east coast. The National Hurricane Center in Miami says it
should become a tropical storm by Monday night and will affect
residents from the Carolinas to Cape Cod.The Hurricane Center says the current
storm cluster has dropped 13 inches of rain in 24 hours in Manatee
County on Florida’s Gulf Coast.The Carolinas could see wind gusts of up to
40 miles per hour with rough swells and heavy rainfall.Although most of New
England won’t see much of the storm’s effects, as Harvey has shown, a lot can
change in a short amount of time.

മൃഗങ്ങളും ജനവാസകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിലേക്ക് ചേക്കേറി.ഇന്ത്യന്വംശജര് തിങ്ങിപ്പാര്ക്കുന്ന
ഹൂസ്റ്റണില് മലയാളികളും ഏറെയുണ്ട്. ഹൂസ്റ്റണില് താമസിക്കുന്ന ചലച്ചിത്രതാരം ബാബു
ആന്റണി കുടുംബസമേതം സുഹൃത്തിന്റെ വീട്ടിലേക്ക് മാറിയതായി സഹോദരന് തമ്പി ആന്റണി
ഫെയ്സ്ബുക്കിലൂടെ അറിയിച്ചു. വീടുകളിലേക്ക് ചീങ്കണ്ണിയും പെരമ്പാമ്പും
എത്തിയതിന്റെ ദൃശ്യങ്ങളും അദ്ദേഹം പോസ്റ്റ് ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ടെക്സാസിലെ ഏറ്റവും
വലിയ നഗരമായ ഹൂസ്റ്റണിനു പുറത്തുള്ള ജലസംഭരണി നിറഞ്ഞുകവിഞ്ഞത് കടുത്ത ആശങ്ക ഉയര്ത്തി.
സമീപമേഖലയിലുള്ളവരെ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ മാറ്റിപ്പാര്പ്പിച്ചു. ജലസംഭരണിയിലെ നിരപ്പിനു
തുല്യമാണ് ഇപ്പോള് മേഖലയിലെ ജലനിരപ്പ്. ആയിരങ്ങള് വീടുപേക്ഷിച്ചു പോയി.

വരുംദിവസങ്ങളില് തുടരുമെന്നാണ് കാലാവസ്ഥാപ്രവചനം. ഹൈവേകള് അടച്ചിട്ടു. ഒരു വര്ഷംമുഴുവന്
ലഭിക്കേണ്ട മഴ ഒറ്റ ദിവസംകൊണ്ട് ലഭിച്ച സാഹചര്യമാണ് ഹൂസ്റ്റണിലേത്.ഹൂസ്റ്റണ് സര്വകലാശാലയില്
പ്രളയത്തില് ഒറ്റപ്പെട്ട ഇരുനൂറോളം ഇന്ത്യന് വിദ്യാര്ഥികളെ സുരക്ഷിതസ്ഥാനത്ത്
എത്തിച്ചതായി അമേരിക്കന് സന്നദ്ധസംഘടനകള് അറിയിച്ചു. പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഡോണള്ഡ്
ട്രംപും ഭാര്യയും ദുരന്തമേഖല സന്ദര്ശിച്ചു.
