Kumar, the youngest councilor with the Kollam Corporation was killed in an
accident at Kavanad on 13th September,2016, Tuesday. She was 23 year
old. Her father, Sunilkumar, was seriously injured in the accident later
succumbed to injuries at the Kollam District Hospital In the accident which
happened around 10.30 pm, a car reportedly hit the scooter, on which the two
were travelling, killing the young councilor on the spot. Her father died on 14
th September.Kokila represented the Thevally ward and was one of the two BJP
councilors in the Council.

ബിജെപി കൗണ്‍സിലര്‍ കോകില എസ്.കുമാറും(23) അച്ഛന്‍ സുനില്‍കുമാറും (50)കാറിടിച്ചു മരിച്ചു.ചൊവ്വാഴ്ച രാത്രി 10ന് പടിഞ്ഞാറെ കൊല്ലം കാവനാട് ദേശീയപാതയില്‍ ആല്‍ത്തറമൂടിനു സമീപമായിരുന്നു അപകടം.കൊല്ലം കോർപ്പറേഷനിലെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം കുറഞ്ഞ കൗൺസിലറായിരുന്നു കോകില.
അമിതവേഗത്തില്‍ പിന്നിൽ നിന്നുവന്ന കാര്‍ കോകിലയും അച്ഛനും സഞ്ചരിച്ച സ്‌കൂട്ടര്‍ ഇടിച്ചു തെറിപ്പിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. ഇടിയുടെ ആഘാതത്തില്‍ ഇരുവരും ദൂരേക്ക് തെറിച്ചുവീണു.
കോകില സംഭവ സ്ഥലത്ത് തന്നെ മരിച്ചു. ഗുരുതര പരിക്കേറ്റ സുനില്‍കുമാർ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ വെച്ചാണ് മരിച്ചത്. പരവൂര്‍ ഫയര്‍ ആൻഡ് റെസ്ക്യൂ സ്റ്റേഷനിലെ ഡ്രൈവറാണ് സുനില്‍കുമാര്‍.കൊല്ലം കര്‍മലറാണി ട്രെയിനിങ് കോളജിലെ ബി.എഡ് വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിനി കൂടിയായ കോകില . തേവള്ളി ഡിവിഷനിൽ നിന്നാണ് വിജയിച്ചത്. ഷൈലജയാണ് അമ്മ. സഹോദരങ്ങൾ: കാര്‍ത്തിക, ശബരി.
