STUDENTS CLASH AT
 MAHARAJA’S COLLEGE

Balu Pradeep, 19, a member of the Students’ Federation of India and a student of the college, and Kerala Students’ Union members Habeeb Rahman, 18, and Jerris Jose, 20, were admitted to a private hospital here with injuries. Hospital authorities said that Balu had been stabbed in the stomach while Habeeb and Jerris had head injuries.The feud began on Tuesday morning after Habeeb was allegedly attacked by SFI activists in the campus. Habeeb was admitted to the hospital and police arrested two SFI activists and registered a case against 43 people over the clashes that took place in the college and outside its gates. On Thursday morning, Habeeb was reportedly arrived at the college with a group of KSU activists.
Members of the SFI, too, arrived in the campus and the two groups fought. A police team stationed outside the college intervened and used force to bring the fight under control.A few students who tried to take Habeeb to the General Hospital also reportedly came under attack.KSU district president Tittu Antony said that Habeeb was on his way to meet the principal when SFI activists attacked him. SFI district secretary Muhammed Fazal said that they would protest across the State on Friday. “We will also hold a protest blocking classes across the district on Friday,” he said.
