The “Janakeeya Munnai” was the other front.

Secretary of the institution Punalur Somarajan said that there was much enthusiasm among all the inmates. “Brisk polling was witnessed and even the senior most inmates cast their votes”. Almost 600 inmates polled. After the results, Ms. Jayalakshmi was unanimously chosen as the president of the grama panchayat. Kadakkal Balachandran was elected vice president and Thankappan Pillai, the welfare standing committee chairperson. The winners held a victory procession through the Gandhi Bhavan complex and the candidates of the “rival” front too joined the procession cheering the winners.
