MANOHAR LAL KHATTAR TO BE SWORN IN AS HARYANA CHIEF MINISTER

മനോഹര്‍ ലാല്‍ ഘട്ടര്‍ ഹരിയാണ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകും

                 Manohar Lal Kattar.Manohar Lal Khattar is the next chief minister of Haryana. The decision to appoint the 60-year-old leader, a former RSS member for four decades, as the tenth chief minister of the state was announced after a meeting of the BJP legislators in Chandigarh on 21^st October,Tuesday.Khattar, a Punjabi, is the first non-Jat chief minister of the state in 18 years after Bhajan Lal. A first-time MLA, he now represents Karnal in Haryana Assembly, a seat he won with a margin of 63,736 votes."The MLAs have elected me as the leader of BJP Legislature Party. It was a unanimous decision. We are going to the Governor and will put forth our claim to form the government," Khattar said after the announcement.

            The swearing-in of the new Haryana chief minister and other ministers is likely to take place on October 26. The ceremony is expected to be held at a sports stadium in Panchkula, 15 km from Chandigarh, instead of the Haryana Raj Bhavan.(Also read: Who is Manohar Lal Khattar?)Khattar beat other frontrunners for the post including Captain Abhimanyu, Ram Bilas Sharma, Anil Vij, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh and former MP Chaudhary Birender Singh.Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu and senior BJP leader Dinesh Sharma were appointed as the party's observers for Haryana, where the BJP won simple majority with 47 seats in the 90-member House, paving the way for the party's first ever government in the state since its formation in 1966.Khattar has been a prominent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh leader for 40 years and is considered close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.The unmarried former RSS pracharak, who was deputed to the BJP years ago, was chairman of the BJP's campaign committee for Haryana in the Lok Sabha elections. The party won seven of the state's 10 seats.The BJP did not announce a chief ministerial candidate in Haryana in the run-up to the October 15 elections, preferring to build its campaign around PM Modi's popularity.Apart from sharing their RSS antecedents, Khattar is also said to have worked closely with Modi, who had begun his Haryana campaign this year from Karnal, Khattar's constituency.

ഹരിയാണയില്‍ മനോഹര്ലാoല്‍ ഘട്ടര്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകും. ജാട്ട് സമുദായത്തിന് പുറത്ത് നിന്ന് ഒരാള്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകണമെന്ന പാര്ട്ടിm നേതൃത്വത്തിന്റെ തീരുമാനത്തെ തുടര്ന്നാ ണ് ഘട്ടറിന് നറുക്കുവീണത്. ഘട്ടര്‍ മന്ത്രിസഭ ഞായറാഴ്ച സത്യപ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്യും.ഹരിയാനയില്‍ ജാട്ട് വിഭാഗക്കാരനല്ലാത്ത രണ്ടാമത്തെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാണ് ഘട്ടര്‍. 15 വര്ഷരത്തിന് ശേഷമാണ് ഹരിയാണയില്‍ ജാട്ടുകാരനല്ലാത്ത ഒരാള്‍ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകുന്നത്. 1980 മുതല്‍ 1994 വരെ ആര്‍.എസ്.എസ്സിന്റെ സജീവപ്രവര്ത്തപകനായിരുന്ന ഘട്ടര്‍ അതിന് ശേഷം ബി.ജെ.പിയിലെത്തി. പ്രധാനമന്ത്രി നരേന്ദ്ര മോദിയുടെ അടുപ്പക്കാരനായാണ് ഘട്ടര്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. മോദി ഹരിയാണയിലെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പ്രചാരണത്തിന് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ചതും ഘട്ടര്‍ ജനവിധി തേടിയ കര്ണാപലില്‍ നിന്നായിരുന്നു. ലോക്‌സഭാ തിരഞ്ഞെടുപ്പില്‍ ഹരിയാണയില്‍ ബി.ജെ.പിയുടെ പ്രചാരണ കമ്മിറ്റി ചെയര്മാടനായിരുന്നു.ബിജെപി ദേശീയ നിര്വാരഹക സമിതി അംഗം കൂടിയായ ഘട്ടര്‍ കര്ണാതലില്‍ നിന്ന് വന്‍ ഭൂരിപക്ഷത്തിലാണ് ഇത്തവണ ജയിച്ചത്. ജാട്ട് ഇതര സമുദായക്കാരായ പിന്നാക്ക വിഭാഗത്തിന്റെയും ദളിതരുടേയും ഉറച്ച പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നു ബി.ജെ.പിയെ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് അധികാരത്തിലെത്തിച്ചത്. ആ നിലയ്ക്ക് സംസ്ഥാനം അടക്കി ഭരിച്ച ജാട്ടുകള്ക്ക്റ പുറത്ത് നിന്ന് ഒരാള്‍ തന്നെ മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയാകട്ടെ എന്ന് പാര്ട്ടിാ തീരുമാനിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.24ാം വയസ്സില്‍ ആര്‍.എസ്.എസില്‍ ചേര്ന്നാ ഘട്ടര്‍ 1980 ല്‍ തന്റെ 27 ാമത്തെ വയസ്സില്‍ മുഴുവന്‍ സമയ പ്രവര്ത്തസകനായി. 14 വര്ഷ1ത്തെ ആര്‍.എസ്.എസ് പ്രവര്ത്ത്നത്തിനു ശേഷം സംഘടന നിര്ദേചശപ്രകാരം 1994 ല്‍ ബിജെപിയില്‍ ചേര്ന്നു . 2000 മുതല്‍ 2014 വരെ ഹരിയാണയിലെ ബിജെപി സംസ്ഥാന ഘടകത്തിന്റെ ജനറല്‍ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി പ്രവര്ത്തി ച്ചു. മുഖ്യമന്ത്രിയെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിനായി കേന്ദ്രനിരീക്ഷകരായി കേന്ദ്രമന്ത്രി വെങ്കയ്യ നായ്ഡുവും പാര്ട്ടി  വൈസ് പ്രസിഡന്റ് ദിനേഷ് ശര്മ്മദയും ചണ്ഡിഗഢില്‍ എത്തിയിരുന്നു.
