ROAD ACCIDENT IN MYSORE

മൈസൂരിൽ വാഹനാപകടത്തിൽ ഒന്പത് മലയാളികൾ മരിച്ചു

Nine persons were killed and 11 others injured when a van carrying them collided with a truck transporting LPG cylinders between Kampalapura and Chilkunda in Periyapatna taluk about 55 km from Mysore on14thMay, Wednesday.The accident took place at around 5.30 a.m. and the victims all from Deralakatte in Mangalore were returning from a visit to the Muthupet dargah in Tiruvarur disrict of Tamil Nadu.The victims belonged to a party of 20 from two families. The condition of three of the injured is said to be serious and the injured are being treated at Apollo BGS Hospital and Bhanavi Hospital in Mysore.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dhananjay told The Hindu that preliminary inquiries indicate that the tempo driver must have dozed off after driving through the night resulting in the accident. The identity of victims is being ascertained as the police were awaiting the arrival of other family members from Mangalore.On receiving information of the accident, residents from Periyapatna rushed to the spot and volunteered to shift the injured to Mysore. The victims were first brought to the K.R. Hospital. The volunteers, however, insisted that the injured be shifted to private hospitals citing delay and lack of facilities in the hospital.Javed Ahmed from Periyapatna said he was returning from the mosque after prayers at around 6.15 a.m. when he heard about the accident and rushed to the hospital where the victims had already been brought from the accident site. But in view of the serious nature of the injuries all the 11 were shifted to Mysore, he said.

മൈസൂർ: മൈസൂരിനടുത്ത് പെരിയപട്ടണത്ത് തീർത്ഥാടക സംഘം സഞ്ചരിച്ച ടെമ്പോ ട്രാവലറും ഗ്യാസ് ലോറിയും കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ച് ഒമ്പത് മലയാളികൾ മരിച്ചു. 10 പേർക്ക് പരിക്കേറ്റു. ഇന്ന് ,മെയ്‌ 14,പുലർച്ചെ 4.45ഓടെയായിരുന്നു അപകടം. മരിച്ചത് മംഗലാപുരം ദെർളക്കട്ട സ്വദേശികളാണ്. ഇവരിൽ നാലുപേർ സ്ത്രീകളും മൂന്ന് പേർ കുട്ടികളുമാണ്.ഇക്ബാൽ (30), ഫൗസിയ (24), മുഹമ്മദ് ഇർഷാൻ (3), മുഹമ്മദ് ഹിഷാം (4) എന്നിവരുടെ മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു. മരിച്ചത്  ദെർളക്കട്ടയിൽ സ്ഥിരതാമസമാക്കിയ മലയാളി സയ്ദിന്റെ കുടുംബാംഗങ്ങളാണ്.

മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ പെരിയപട്ടണത്തെ ഗവ. ആശുപത്രിയിൽ സൂക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുകയാണ്. പരിക്കേറ്റവരിൽ ആറുപേരെ മൈസൂർ അപ്പോളോ ആശുപത്രിയിലും നാലുപേരെ കൊളമ്പോ ആശുപത്രിയിലും പ്രവേശിപ്പിച്ചു. അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട ട്രാവലറിൽ 21 പേരാണുണ്ടായിരുന്നതെന്ന് പെരിയപട്ടണം എസ്.ഐ പ്രസന്നകുമാർ  ഇതിൽ ആറുപേർ കുട്ടികളായിരുന്നു. അപകടത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട സംഘം തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ പള്ളിയിൽ പോയി മടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു. മടിക്കേരിയിൽ നിന്ന് മൈസൂരിലേക്ക് പോവുകയായിരുന്ന ലോറിയാണ് ബി.എം റോഡ് സമ്പലാപൂരിൽ വച്ച് ട്രാവലറിലിടിച്ചത്.
