An unexplored heaven on earth, Kappil Beach is one of the best kept secrets of God’s own country. The beach covers an area of about twenty-five acres land and it is the most exciting location to relax and enjoy. The wide, sweeping stretch of silver sands, fringed by thick groves of casuarinas and total solitude of the surroundings all set to realize your dream. This sun-drenched beach is a perfect getaway after a hectic tour of the nearby Bekal Fort, some six kms away. The Kodi cliff provides an ideal spot for the adventurous souls and offers a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. Kappil is the north-west border town of Thiruvananthapuram district, in Kerala state, India. It is located in Edava Panchayat at the cost of Arabian Sea, near Varkala.Scenic backwaters, beach and facilities for watersport are available. Kappil is also famous for Kappil Bhagavathy Temple and a tourist spot during the festival season.

You can get there by shuttle trains that stop at Kappil. It lies on the Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam railway route. Nearest main Railway Station is at Varkala 10 km (6.2 mi) away.Bus service is available to Thiruvananthapuram (65 km (40 mi)), Kollam (30 km (19 mi)) and Varkala (10 km (6.2 mi)). Nearest airport is Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. Kappil Lake is located six kilometers or you can say 3.75 miles from Varkala. It is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Varkala. The beauty of the place can easily be seen on the net, and it attracts people from the corners of the world. The bridge over the Kappil Lake in Varkala is very vantage point to see the water of the lake. The tourism board of the Kerala has also arranged a boat club here where you could do a boating across the lake which could make your evening more splendid.
