(Kasaragod school wins arts festival)

The Kasaragod Model Residential School (MRS) won the overall championship at ‘Sargotsavam 2013’, the first State-level arts festival held exclusively for the students of Model Residential Schools (MRS). The festival concluded at Kaniyampetta in Wayanad district on Saturday, 28th December,2013.

Chalakkudi MRS won the runners-up totle and Nallurnadu MRS in Wayanad district came third.The Kasaragod MRS scored 120 points; Chalakkudi MRS 113; and Nallurnadu, 48.Babitha Balan of the Kasaragod MRS was selected ‘Kalathilakam’ and P.U. Abhilash of Munnar MRS in Idukki district ‘Kalaprathibha’ in the senior section.Sujatha Supran of the Chalakkudi MRS and Abhin Krishana of the Kannur MRS were selected ‘Kalathilakam’ and ‘Kalaprathibha’ in the junior section.As many as 606 students from18 MRS in the State took part in 29 items during the three-day fete.Minister for Welfare of the Scheduled Tribes P.K. Jayalakshmi inaugurated the valedictory function. The Minister also gave away prizes to the winners.
